There are four types of Soul Songs we work with in the Sing Your Soul Song Workshop
Just as light pouring through a prism creates different colours, so universal light pouring through our living being creates different types of songs.
There are four types of soul songs we work with in the workshop. They are: celestial, mystical, sacred and inspirational.
Celestial Soul Song: The Celestial Soul Song is the highest form of soul song springing from the Soul-Song well. This is a celestial language or unfamiliar language we sing in. When we sing this kind of song we are connecting deeply with our soul which is connected to its Source or Creator. We can feel this connection on any level of our singing and music-making as long as that is our intention. The higher the level of our singing or playing the more bliss, love, peace and joy we feel as we sing or play. This shows us that the nature of the Source is pure unconditional love. When we begin to experience how beloved we are, we begin to heal life's wounds, sorrows and incorrect beliefs about ourselves. Music becomes a pathway for healing and empowerment. It is all about being connected to God and each other in love, joy, peace and harmony. With a celestial soul song we are singing in an unknown language, therefore we often need to ask the Spirit for an interpretation.
Mystical Soul Songs: Mystical Soul Songs are melodies without words. We can call them melodies sung on vowel sounds or soul-inspired instrumental music. These melodies spring from the well of our soul symphony. We often hear these melodies on the inner plains our hearing. It is as if these melodies sing to us from within. These are the source of all the great instrumental music written and all the heavenly melodies we are familiar with. We can tell that they are very special because our whole being is elevated to a higher consciousness when these melodies are sounding. They are sometimes a revelation in themselves and bring us wisdom and many blessings of joy, comfort, truth, harmony with ourselves and others, and . . . . . love.
Sacred Soul Songs: Chants and mantras are the Souls Songs we call sacred. These are used to take us to deeper levels of awareness.
They assist us in meditation and quiet the busy mind so that we can focus our attention on the higher planes of existence. Sacred Songs are generally used in sacred spaces or the places of our spiritual nourishment. One purpose of the sacred song is to give us a feeling of connection to the Divine-all-that-is or God. A chant is usually a short phrase repeated over and over so the sacred message or vibration can seep deeply into our being. Chants can occur in any human language even though we often think of chants as being in Latin, Sanskrit, Hebrew or many of the sacred languages of song sung all over the world. Mantras, in my workshop or meditation are generally vowel sounds which are toned. These are powerful tools for deep meditation and healing.
Inspirational Soul Songs. These are hymns, bhajans, and songs of affirmation. These are Soul Songs which we find uplifting, inspiring, strengthening and encouraging in our lives. These songs can be long poems set to music or hymns with many verses. They can also be short affirmations sung over and over again to affirm our truth.
We derive comfort, guidance and teaching from these songs. They
come from every sector of our existence here on the earthly planes. These are songs of inspiration, and they help us to focus on the truths which we are learning and experiencing from day to day. Without these songs we would falter and lose our way.
We sing these songs to each other on very sacred and special occasions whether we believe what they are saying or not. They are everywhere and impact our lives in a profound way.
In the Sing Your Soul Song Workshop and Meditation we strive to presently or eventually experience all four types of Soul Song. Each song serves a unique purpose in our self expression and self actualization.
Ruth works intuitively with every group and individual. There are many pathways each workshop, meditation or session could take depending on the level of understanding and experience of the people attending.
